Texas Showdown 22 EMGG Recap

EasternMediaGG (EMGG) continued its campaign to establish itself as a dominant force in the fighting game tournament scene, this past weekend. Its recent outing at the Texas Showdown 2022 not only showed solid talent, but a clear path forward in the months to come.

The EMGG flag was front and center at the venue for the Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V matches as the two EMGG competitors took to the stage and showed what they could bring to the table.

Kaizur, a talented and upcoming Lucky Chloe player that EMGG signed back in January 2022, clenched a top 10 spot for the second time in as many showings. His first shot with EMGG ended similarly at the Frosty Faustings event back in January. Kaizur was well on his way to cracking the Top 8, dominating all opponents until one opponent put him in the loser’s bracket. He continued to show skill and resilience fighting to the end of the bracket in a back-and-forth battle that had viewers on the edge of their seats. Regardless of the questionable commentary provided by the venue, EMGG has full faith that Kaizur’s time to shine is far from over.

Justakid, a fantastic Street Fighter V player who specializes in all things Juri, proved his worth by sweeping the competition, 5-0. He coolly dispatched each opponent until he was eventually taken down in the grand finale by Panda's PunkDaGod. Not bad for his debut if you ask this article writer. EMGG is in good hands with these two stellar players.

Kaizur and Justakid are only the beginning. Who knows what else EMGG has in store for its community and the eSports scene as a whole? Stick around and find out.
